Tiger Woods opens up on preparing son Charlie like his father used to

In 2023, Tiger Woods and his son Charlie will be reunited at the PNC Championship. Woods has never concealed how much he is helping Charlie pursue a golf career. In addition to the technical aspects, the task also involves mental preparation.

Tiger Woods talked about how his father, Earl, helped him when he was first getting into golf in an interview with Golf Digest. The readiness of his kid to handle any mental test was one of Earls Woods’s top demands. Tiger intends to impart these lessons to Charlie.

“It never stops, never stops. The goal is to get into his thoughts because if I can, anyone else can too, according to Woods. “There will come a day when I will be unable to enter his thoughts, and after that, nobody else will be able to either. My father held that to be true. You must be prepared to accept it.”

According to Tiger Woods, throughout his early golf career, golfers would engage in various forms of psychological blackmail. He’s hoping Charlie will be ready for any obstacles he faces.

Father and son duo at the PNC Championship

Tiger Woods and his son Charlie will compete together in the PNC Championship for the second time in the 2023 edition. The first instance occurred in 2022 when Team Woods placed eighth.

Charlie and Tiger finished T2 with a combined total of 13-under 72 after an incredible opening round. Justin Thomas and his father, the transitional leaders, were only one stroke behind them at the end.

In their first round, Team Woods had one eagle, eleven birdies, and no bogeys. With six birdies and an eagle, their first nine were almost perfect.

On the second day, though, they were unable to replicate their feat. Having made one bogey, seven birdies, and one eagle, the pair concluded the round with a total of -7. They tied with Teams O’Meara and Spieth with a total score of 20 under 124.

After making his way back into the courses at the Hero World Challenge, Tiger Woods will make his way to the PNC Championship. Charlie, however, comes after his team won the Florida State High School Championship.

The Ritz-Carlton Golf Club in Orlando, Florida, will host the 2023 PNC Championship from December 14–17. There will be twenty pairs competing, each made up of a Major champion and a family member.

Players from many periods will be in the lineup, including current PGA Tour stars like Woods and Justin Thomas, players from the LPGA Tour like Nelly Korda, players from the PGA Tour Champions like John Daly and Bernhard Langer, and others who are not as active in competitive golf like Annika Sorenstam.
