Fans react to Mickelson’s deleted tweet calling Alan Shipnuck a ‘lying piece of sh*t’

Phil Mickelson attacked Alan Shipnuck on Twitter, saying his arguments were unfounded. He ultimately chose to remove the tweet, though.

It all began when Shipnuck said that Mickelson was informing individuals that Jon Rahm’s purported move to LIV Golf was practically finalized. On X, now known as Twitter, Mickelson, however, denied the allegation and dubbed his unofficial biographer a “pathetic human” and the “worst liar.”

In response, Shipnuck labelled the six-time major winner a psychopath and said that his irrational outburst was an attempt to hide a problem. In a since-deleted tweet, Mickelson attacked Shipnuck, calling him a dishonest POS (piece of sh*t). NUCLR Golf on X posted a copy of the tweet.

“I am completely transparent. “You’re lying,” he penned. “I haven’t mentioned Jon by name or in any way. Everyone I’ve spent the previous several weeks with will attest to that. Identify your source, you deceitful POS.

The fact that the seasoned golfer then removed the tweet raised suspicions among some supporters, even if some still backed the player.

Here are a few responses:

“Mickelson- Deleted- says it all!?”

It’s genuinely fascinating. Either Phil is completely disconnected from reality, or Alan is destroying his reputation and career—which I highly doubt.”

“I’m still waiting for ONE person to back up Shipnuck’s claims…… ONE!!!”

“It stinks to see the most popular player since Arnold Palmer become the biggest villain in golf history, right or wrong. Phil’s legacy has now been totally wrecked.”

“This is simple. Alan would make something up, but why? has no meaning. If Phil’s buddy mistreated him and now he feels ashamed, it provides a valid explanation for Phil’s ire. He was apprehended. I’m sure JR would be furious if Phil used his name. Common sense. Here, Phil looks to be the one lying.”
