WWE CEO Nick Khan Shares Thoughts On Tony Khan, Says He “Seems Like A Nice Kid”

WWE CEO Nick Khan was recently seen spiking about AEW President Tony Khan and his father Shahid Khan. The company CEO was also encountered praising Tony Khan in the interview.

Khan spoke on “The Bill Simmons Podcast,” where Simmons discussed Tony Khan’s leadership of AEW’s growth and questioned him about Tony’s father Shahid. He responded with a very political response, as was expected from WWE’s Khan.

What did he say about Tony Khan?

“I think a couple (of) things,” he said. “I’ve never met the kid, Tony Khan, seems like a nice kid to me, [but] I don’t know him. I’ve met his dad, who randomly I sat next to at some sports business lunch on that Stephanie and I went to a year and a half or so ago. I thought the dad was [as] impressive as can be. I think there was a piece on him in The New York Times, a year or so prior to that. Self-made billionaire, I believe Pakistani immigrant. Could not be more impressed with him.”

He went on to say that he didn’t believe Shahid was active with AEW on a daily basis before somewhat changing the subject. “He has the pockets, and that’s awesome, and I’m sure his kid appreciates it. But I was never threatened by that. But I tend not to feel threatened by anyone or anything. It’s not how I do business.”

“I don’t care what anyone else is doing,” he added. “I care what we’re doing. And as long as we can have the best product on, with the best talent and the best writers, I think we’re going to be in good shape.”

Following Stephanie McMahon’s resignation, Nick Khan just took over as WWE’s only CEO. He was promoted to co-CEO and began working there in 2020 as president and chief revenue officer When Vince McMahon departed from the company in 2022.
