But some of those Jersey numbers are kept by the NBA, for the honor of some respectful players. And the NBA doesn’t allow any other team, to use that particular number for their players, and if found then the team would be fined and some strict actions would be taken by the NBA.
The NBA has been doing this for a long time, and now has a collection of many players and their jersey numbers. Out of those, there is a number 69 which is also not allowed to be used by any of the teams or players in the NBA League. And the only reason, behind this jersey, not being used, is the bad reference to society.
As the number of the jersey refers to a sexual position, the NBA has been always been known for hosting a family-friendly match. So the NBA decided to ban that number, from being worn by any other player throughout the NBA.
Dennis Rodman once tried to wear the 69 no. Jersey
Dennis Rodman is one of the most mysterious and interesting players in NBA history. The player is popular for his performance as well as for his mysterious behavior, either it would be his hair color style or he could get married to himself.
He always does something weird, and different that makes the player one of the most trolled players as per the NBA. Before the 1999 season, the Mavs give Rodman an opportunity, to play for his hometown but the player again did something weird. When he was asked by the reporter, that what number he wanted to wear during his time with the Mavs.
Then Rodman said, that he would like to wear the 69 no. jersey for playing with the Mavs. At that time Mark Cuban was the new owner of the Mavs, and when he received Rodman’s jersey number request. Cuban replied to Rodman, by saying that he has already printed a jersey for him, which he has to wear for the photoshoot.
