What was Tiger Woods’ total score at the 2023 Hero World Challenge Pro Am today?

Tiger Woods returned to the world of professional golf on Wednesday, when he was spotted competing in the 2023 Hero World Challenge Pro-Am. The renowned golfer teed off for just nine of the 18 holes. However, he did not play them all.

Woods has reportedly scored an unofficial par 36, according to Golf Digest. He had two bogeys on the sixth and eighth holes and birdies on the third and ninth holes.

Fans conjectured that Woods was not actually performing well when it was revealed that he would just be playing nine holes in the Pro-Am competition. But according to his manager, Rob McNamara, he was reserving himself for the Albany Golf Club over the next four days.

Tiger Woods stated in an interview with reporters in The Bahamas on Tuesday that he thought his game was “rusty” since he hadn’t played in a long time. He continued by saying he was eager to participate in this week’s 2023 Hero World Challenge.

He stated, as cited by ESPN:

Since I last played a long time ago, my game seems rusty. My subtalar region was fused. Since I haven’t played or competed in a long, I’m eager to do so and am as interested in the outcome as the rest of you.”

He said that the post-traumatic arthritis he had as a result of the vehicle accident he had in 2021 has prevented him from experiencing the same level of discomfort as before at the Masters Tournament in April.

He continued, saying:

“I can assure you that my ankle discomfort is not at all what it was before Augusta or throughout that time. My ankle is fine, but other portions are bearing the brunt of the strain, so I’m a little more uncomfortable in other places. Thus, the procedure went well.”
