The broadcast of some of WWE’s biggest premium live events of the year takes place at the same time as McMahon’s homecoming. Texas hosts the Royal Rumble this month, while Wrestlemania, a two-day spectacle, starts in April.

In a prepared statement, McMahon stated that he has no intention of altering the responsibilities, tasks, or roles of WWE’s current management team as a result of his return.

After numerous lawsuits were brought against him for misconduct and infidelity, Mr. McMahon left WWE on July 22, 2022. Stephanie, his daughter, took over as Chairwoman and was now Co-CEO with Nick Khan. As WWE’s Chief Content Officer, Stephanie’s husband Paul Levesque (Triple H) oversaw the creative.

In a letter to the board, McMahon reportedly declared his intention to return for a strategic review process to determine whether WWE is a suitable target for sale, according to the WSJ. He added that until he is directly involved as executive chairman from the start of a strategic review, he “won’t support or sanction any media-rights acquisition or sale.”
