Rose Zhang came in third place in the 2023 Maybank Championship, which was held at the Kuala Lumpur Country Club’s West Course. She shot a third round of seven under par 65, breaking her record. Olly Brett, Daniella Kang’s previous caddy, was with her on the course and in her bag.

Rose Zhang competed in her maiden professional event, the Mizuho Americas Open, in June. More impressively, she went on to win the event, capturing the attention of the golf world. She has finished in the top ten of ten tournaments since then, including the Maybank Championship.

Zhang has Olly Brett on the bag at Maybank. Of course, the couple’s compatibility appears to be improving by the day, as Zhang can confirm.

According to Golf.com, she stated:

Olly makes a big difference, especially when we’re just having fun on the golf course. From tee to green, my game was extremely steady, and I was able to convert the putts I needed to. “I’m feeling fantastic.”

Zhang was leading coming into the final round, but Celine Boutier eventually beat her at Atthaya Thitikul. However, her third-place performance was outstanding, and she is looking forward to further possibilities.

She went on to say:

“I just feel like having the opportunity to go into the final round with a little bit of a lead is fantastic.” Going ahead, I want to make sure I’m having fun, sticking to my game plan, and appreciating every little moment.”

Rose Zhang remains optimistic despite losing the lead at the 2023 Maybank Championship.

In a post-round interview, the 20-year-old discussed her performance in great detail. Her participation in the following two competitions will be a learning experience for her. Her T3 finish is a step in the right way, following a string of bad results in the previous month.

He stated:

“I’m super excited to go to Japan and just enjoy the cuisine and the entire country.” CME will happen when I recuperate a little bit, a week off; then, I’ll end the year with a handful of additional tournaments. As a result, there is a lot of promise.

Rose Zhang will compete in the Toto Japan Classic and the Annika Driven by Grainbridge in Naples, Florida, respectively.
