The NFL Clarifies Sideline Incident in Bears-Commanders Game

The NFL 2023-24 season is on the hype and everyone enjoying it to the fullest. During the game between Chicago and Washington on Thursday night a unique incident took place. Someone was standing behind Bears’ offensive coordinator Luke Getsy. This person had a phone case with the Commanders’ logo, making people suspicious that Washington’s team might be cheating.

Everyone got worried about this incident. But don’t worry, the NFL cleared up the confusion. It was revealed that the person standing behind Getsy was actually a uniform inspector assigned to the Bears-Commanders game. There was no cheating involved.

“It was one of the two uniform inspectors assigned to the game, Ravin Caldwell,” chief NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy told Pro Football Talk.

Caldwell has been playing for Washington from 1987-1992.

Another uniform inspector during Thursday night’s game was Ricky Ervins. He used to play for Washington from 1991 to 1994.

Even though that picture seemed concerning, it’s clear the NFL was aware of the situation. Plus, the Commanders didn’t benefit from it. They ended up losing to Justin Fields and the Bears quite convincingly.
