The popular esports organization The Guard has recently seen laying off their members who were part of the entire content, social, talent, and creative teams. Most of the employees are from the production and creative department.

Recently, Guard was represented by its Valorant lineup in NA Challengers and by the Apex Legends roster in ALGS Split 1 Playoff. The esports organization has also Call Of Duty and Overwatch League teams under its banner.

The Guard producer Hunter share the news of laying off on Twitter by posting the logo of the organization and stating: “BREAKING: Layoffs have now hit The Guard as they lay off all of their content, social, talent, and creative teams Sources: myself lmao”. He is one of the members of the Guard who was part of the recent layoffs.

Furthermore, Carlie Kay, Apparel Designer also shared this news she wrote:

“as of today, everyone’s position as the guard has been eliminated. it was a great few months but I’m heartbroken. I am available for work across merch or apparel. Being unemployed in LA isn’t something I was expecting the day before my birthday Lol”

It’s the biggest layoff done by any esports organization to date, before that in 2023, 100 Thieves and OpTic also laid off some of their staff members.

However, The Guard still didn’t confirm why they take this decision of laying off employees, and the org has yet to lay off employees publicly.
