T Natarajan’s Early Life and Education

Thangarasu Natarajan was born on April 4, 1991, in Chinnappampatti, a small village in Salem, Tamil Nadu, India. Natarajan’s family was financially weak as his father, S Thangarasu, used to work at a power loom as a weaver, while his mother runs a fast-food stall. 

Natarajan started playing tennis ball cricket as a hobby but on the advice of a fellow known villager, he moved to Chennai and started playing division cricket for Vijay Cricket Club. Later he moved to Jolly Rovers, a famous cricket club where popular cricketers like Ravichandran Ashwin and Murali Vijay played cricket. 

Soon he was selected in the Tamil Nadu squad and made his debut in the 2015 Ranji Trophy. But his big break came after joining Dindigul Dragons in 2016 ahead of the inaugural Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL) edition. After a fine performance in TNPL, he was bought by Kings XI Punjab ahead of IPL 2017 for a price of INR 3 crores.
