Shannon Sharpe thinks Russell Wilson may incite his fellow Broncos teammates to dislike him: “He’s brought that attitude to Denver”

The Denver Broncos’ franchise quarterback, Russell Wilson, is now playing in his second season. With a 1 – 3 record, the squad is tied for last place in the AFC West, and the quarterback is under scrutiny.

Whether or not it is fair, some attribute the nine-time Pro Bowler’s sluggish start to him. Wilson’s attitude can cause his teammates to have some bitterness, according to Shannon Sharpe’s observation on the television program “Nightcap,” which she made:

“The other players will start to dislike that player if the coach treats one player in an overtly different way than he does the others. Russ began to act differently once Pete started working boldly and treated him differently. He carried the same mentality with him to Denver.

Wilson spent the first ten years of his NFL career with the Seattle Seahawks, where he holds the record for most throwing yards and touchdowns in team history. In 2013, he helped the Seahawks win the Super Bowl after leading them to back-to-back victories.
On his “Club Shay Shay” podcast, Sharpe chatted with Marshawn Lynch, a running back who was Wilson’s former Seattle teammate. Lynch described how Wilson received preferential treatment from Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll, upsetting several teammates:

“You’re putting him on a pedestal or outside the box, and it’s like he doesn’t have to be held accountable to the same s–t that we do. What the f–k is that?”

The former running back said that after a game in 2013, Wilson contacted him from a blocked number. Last March, Seattle released the signal-caller by trading Wilson to the Broncos.

What kind of season has Russell Wilson had thus far?
With 1,014 yards, 9 touchdowns, and 2 interceptions in four games, Russell Wilson has performed rather well thus far. His completion rate is 67.4 percent.

The Broncos’ record may be attributed to their defense, as they have given up the most yards (461.5) and points (37.5) per game.

Wilson, who received a hefty $245 million deal from Denver in September, is still perceived by some as the issue. The rest of the season will determine if Wilson’s Broncos teammates become resentful of him.
