Ravi Shastri-Virat Kohli’s partnership ended...

On 8th November after India vs. Namibia final match Ravi Shastri gave a speech and waved his hands off from the designation of India’s full-time coach. Also, with the unexpected yet disappointing exit of team India from the T20 World Cup 2021, Virat Kohli’s captaincy came to its end too.

Ravi Shastri in the dressing room gave a farewell speech to the boys and made them recognize the big eventful victories like the one in Australia. Ravi Shastri took the responsibility of being the head coach of India back in 2017 since then under his guidance India has incredibly achieved many things and also retained 42-months of monopolizing Test-Rankings.

Ravi Shastri proudly said that the team has done beyond his expectations. The former cricketer-commentator exclaimed:

“You guys, a team has over-exceeded my expectations with the way you have played. Over the last few years, you go across the globe, across all formats, and beating everyone makes you one of the great teams that have played the game.

Shastri even in his speech raised the confidence of Virat and company and blessed them with best wishes. Ravi Shastri added:

“Not a great Indian cricket team, this will go down as one of the great teams that have played the game over the last 5-6 years. Because the results are there to be seen. Yes, we didn’t have a great tournament, we could have won 1-2 ICC tournaments that didn’t happen but that is sports, you will get another chance. You will be wiser and more experienced when the next opportunity comes.”

He further appreciated the team and made them clear about their visions. He said that accomplishments are not something that matters to him the most but how come the members have overcome their failures.

He appreciated the way the Indian squad works upon their failures and gets ready for the next challenge. The 59- year old concluded:

“For me the most important thing in life is not about what you accomplish, it is what you overcome. So what you have gone through in the last two years will covid, the hurdles that come on the way, the write-offs that happen, everything and you go through all that and become stronger in the mind and tougher and ready to play the game at the highest level and compete and that is the best thing I like about this Indian cricket team.”

Though the coach still needs to look upon its future, according to the sources Shastri is likely to coach the new Ahmedabad team of IPL.

Meanwhile, Virat’s captaincy has come to its end without leaving any legacy behind. Maybe the captaincy task was not Virat’s cup of tea and that made him step down from the Indian squad’s captaincy without any shining Trophy.

However, the team played well in its very last match of ICC T20 WORLD CUP 2021 against Namibia and left them winless licking the dust by 9 wickets.
