It was confirmed that Norwich Midfielder Todd Cantwell has signed for Rangers in the Scottish Premier League.

The 2019/20 season was Cantwell’s debut campaign in the English Premier League, where he scored six goals, an incredible start to his career in the English top flight. However, since then, the attacking midfielder has struggled to cement his place in the starting eleven.

Cantwell, during his time at Norwich, won the championship twice, in 2019 and 2021. So far, he has scored 14 goals in nearly 130 games for the Canaries.

What did Todd Cantwell say about his new move?

Cantwell said during a conversation with RangersTV: “I am delighted and I feel very proud. This is obviously a massive football club and I am delighted to get going and to get started.

“This is a massive club and there is a massive responsibility when you sign for Rangers to be the player that the fans want to see.

“They want to see a player that works hard and a player that can win them games which is very important and that is something I am hoping I can bring.”

What did Michael Beale think about Cantwell?

Manager Michael Beale added: “I am extremely happy to welcome Todd to Rangers. He is a player that is fully aligned to our playing style and we believe he will be a key player for the club in the coming seasons.

“I am looking forward to working with him on the pitch this week and integrating him into our fantastic football club.”

While Norwich sits 5th in the Championship, they look to fight for promotion. On the other hand, Rangers are nine points behind their arch-rivals in Celtic.
