“I am a better spin bowling coach than a fast bowling coach,” said Bharat Arun.
“You realize individuals simply think I am a decent speed bowling coach and that has been a lament of mine. It is simply false. I might have been a speed bowler myself however I can tell you I have accomplished broad work on spin bowling and I simply love examining points and lines with each spinner I have worked with”, said Bharat.
Presently loose and taking a load off before his next task, Bharat was cheerful considering his experience with the Indian cricket team.
“You can say it was an exceptionally fulfilling not many years. We did our absolute best and when we think back I need to say it was an incredible red ball exertion while we came truly close in white-ball contests at key minutes in ICC tournaments. You can say we didn’t win an ICC competition and keeping in mind that I am offering no good reason, may I let you know that till the time we lost we played some phenomenal cricket. We were viewed as top choices by all and that talks about the nature of cricket we played,” he continued.
So what are the high focus that he glances back at with affection?
Fortunate to have a bowling unit that is one of the best in the world – Bharat Arun
“There are many, to be honest. Getting Jasprit Bumrah to become the Test bowler that he is now is certainly one of the best things that have happened to Indian cricket. Winning in Australia and picking 20 wickets each time is no mean achievement and is something we will always be proud of as a team,” he said.
“There is a tremendous amount of self-belief at the moment. Each one of the bowlers knows what they are capable of and while each wants to be the best, there is tremendous camaraderie between all of them. Also, with Ashwin back at his best we are fortunate to have a bowling unit that is one of the best in the world”, he signed off.
Bharat is clearly a satisfied man. Before he took over sports science was a concept. Now it is a mantra for the team. Biomechanics was an idea. Now it is part of the teams’ DNA. He has done his bit and I have to say has done it well.
