Pep says that Gerrard’s slip belongs to Manchester City

Pep Guardiola is doing his best to defend Manchester City during the ongoing investigation regarding the breach of FFP rules. In the light of the moment, the Spaniard went on to claim that Steven Gerrard’s infamous slip that led to City winning the league in 2014 is a ‘moment’ that belongs to them.

According to the Premier League, Man City has been accused of breaching over 100 regulations since 2008.  Although there have not been any punishments for the incident, the idea of deducting points has not been ruled out yet.

Pep talks to the media

While addressing the issue, Pep has accused other Premier League sides of conspiring against Manchester City. Daniel Lewy of Tottenham Hotspurs was one whom Guardiola named.

This week he continued his tirade as he claims that stripping Manchester City off of its titles is one thing. However, the moments still belong to City fans.

He said, “Those moments belong to us. They absolutely belong to us, regardless of the sentence they belong to us.”

“The moments that we lived these years together, the Premier League will decide…but I know what we won and the way we won it. I know the effort we put in. If something happened in 2009 or 2010 it is not going to change one second.”
