IPL Auction 2022: 3 teams that will aim at Ravichandran Ashwin

Will Ravichandran Ashwin be part of the DC or will he be retained by another team?

Ravichandran Ashwin started off his IPL career with the Chennai Super Kings and he associated with many teams including RPSG, PBKS, and DC over his career of his IPL.

With the Delhi announcing that Ravichandran Ashwin will not be part of his franchise. We have three teams that might be in a race to avail the services of Ravichandran Ashwin in the IPL Auction 2022.

  1. Ahmedabad/Lucknow franchises
Whichever teams Ashwin goes in, he brings up with the lots of experience of captaincy. He has lots of guile and tactics in his arsenal. Given all these advantages, he might be picked up by any new franchises as he can guide the team players to title and he can even captain them.

It is possible that one of these new franchises will bid heavily for the player at the IPL Auction 2022.

  1. Chennai Super Kings
His association with the CSK has been great as Ashwin managed to take 90 wickets. However, his stint with other franchises has not been that great. He has picked up 20, 25, and 10 wickets at Rising Pune Supergiant, Kings XI Punjab, and Delhi Capitals respectively.

He might have a dip in the wickets but his test performance will not be avoided as he was the highest wicket-taker in the World Test Championship (WTC). His return to the T20 Squad only further strengthen his potential and he will always be on the CSK’s mind.

  1. Sunrisers Hyderabad
Sunrisers Hyderabad did not have much depth in IPL 2021. It seemed clear that they needed depth in their squad. Who can be better than Ashwin when it comes to providing the depth as he has lots of the experience and tactics in his arsenal. He can also bowl in tandem with the Rashid Khan, who will naturally be their first choice to be retained ahead of the IPL Auction 2022.

Ashwin has 145 wickets in the IPL so far at an average of 27.8 and an economy rate of 6.91 with a BBI of 4/34.
