IPL 2022: 3 players who might replace AB De Villiers in the RCB squad

Recently news appeared where AB De Villiers announced that he will be retiring from all formats of cricket.  This announcement shocked the cricket fraternity and its fans alike. 

AB de Villiers has been entertaining cricket enthusiasts for a very long time. He has an exceptional record in the IPL especially being in RCB. AB de Villiers made his debut in 2010 and he spent most of his time with Delhi and Bangalore. He has been able to add 5162 runs in 184 matches at the strike rate of 151.7. He was an asset to Bangalore when it comes to the middle order. With him gone, the Middle-order of the RCB  will weaken and they will have to find a replacement that is as good as AB De Villiers.

Jos Butler

Jos Buttler is known to be a clean striker. Presently he has been one of the best white-ball cricketers who have done an amazing job with his bat. He is not only a good batsman but also a good wicket-keeper. He does not let the ball go past him. 

Talking about his T20 stats, He has played a total of 276 matches where he managed to score 7135 runs. His strike rate was 144.2. He has an average of around 32.45. Lately, he has been in the top-notch form, hitting many balls sending the balls into the stands. 

Presently he is playing for Rajasthan royals. It is very unlikely that Rajasthan will retain him in the team any further and He will definitely sit in the auction and it is a golden opportunity for RCB to take him in the place of AB De Villiers. 

Jonny Bairstow

When It comes to hitting hard in the limited-overs, there is one name that can not escape the mind of the people that is Jonny Bairstow. He is one of the best hitters in the limited-overs format. He is someone who is comfortable playing in any batting line-up. 

When it comes to his record, he has been able to score 3904 runs in 153 innings that he played at the strike rate of 135 with an average of 30. Playing for England, He has strengthened his position at the no. 4. And has done a fine job anchoring them in the middle overs. 

He is playing for the Sun Risers Hyderabad squad but currently, he sits on the bench. He is expected to be released from the SRH. If He is released from there, RCB can take the advantage of this English cricketer. A great hitter of the ball, Bairstow can surely replace ABD in the RCB Squad. He can be a consideration for Bangalore in the place of AB de Villiers.  

Aiden Markram

Another fellow South African player who can be in the spot of ABD is Aiden Markram. The South African batsman has been in top form for the Proteas. A classy and composed player, Markram has been in all runs this year.

Batting at no.4 for the Proteas, he has delivered some magnificent knocks. The Centurion-born cricketer has got 1732 runs from 65 innings at a decent strike rate of 128 in the T20s. He is also a part-time off-spinner who can bowl from off-breaks to the batsman’s end.

He got into the Punjab Kings as a replacement in the UAE leg. And, was able to score 119 runs from 6 matches. But, Markram can be a very good option for the Royal Challengers.
