In view of the injury of Fabian Allen, Aleal Hosein has been brought in as a replacement for Fabian Allen. This replacement has been approved by the ICC’s event technical committee. Fabian Allen was part of the 15 member squad of the West Indies team. However, Fabian Allen suffered from an ankle injury.  He was not positive to play. It was mandatory to find his replacement. The name of the Aleal Hosein came handy for the replacement.

Hosein does not have much experience when it comes to international matches. He has only played 9 ODIs and 6 T20s for the West Indies since the time he made his debut for the West Indies. However, he has managed to prove his mettle in the other leagues that he played. He was part of the Trinbago knight riders team in the CPL where he took 13 wickets in the 11 matches that he played. His average was 15.92 and he had the second-highest economy rate among all the bowlers in that tournament. He also had a stint with the Kolkata Knight riders where he was a net bowler.

Hosein was not part of the 15 member squad, rather he was kept as reserve player outside the 15 member squad considering the corona situation. Since he has become part of the 15 member squad, he will be replaced by the uncapped player Gudakesh Motie as a reserve player.

West Indies had a first warm-up match on Monday against Pakistan where it lost to Pakistan by 7 wickets. West Indies will be playing its second warm-up match against Afghanistan on Wednesday before playing a proper tournament against England on Oct 23.
