Iga Swiatek, the world number one, has revealed that 2023 has been the ‘ most hardest year’ in her career so far.

Swiatek finished the season strong by winning her maiden WTA Finals title and reclaiming the top spot in the WTA Rankings. She has five more championships in addition to the year-end tournament, including a WTA 1000 in Beijing, two WTA 500s in Doha and Stuttgart, a WTA 250 in Warsaw, and the French Open.

Iga Swiatek spoke with Punto de Break about her 2023 season, which she is already back on the practice courts for. The 22-year-old Pole remarked that this was the ‘ most challenging year’ of her career since she lost the World No. 1 status and experienced injuries, among other things.

“This has been the most difficult year of my career, but my opportunities are expanding.” “What seemed complicated to me two years ago no longer appears to be so,” Swiatek remarked.

“It’s not just about adapting to situations because I started the season as No. 1 and then lost it,” he says. “It was another year of playing at the highest level for me, and I didn’t even have time to go home and rest,” she continued.

Iga Swiatek had this to say: “I always want to win; every athlete has that in their blood.”

Iga Swiatek then talked about how she keeps motivated despite her achievements on the WTA Tour. She stated that, like any other athlete, what inspires her is the desire to win more.

“There are times when the matches are a little monotonous when you worry that the next tournament won’t be anything special.” “But when I step onto the court, those thoughts vanish,” Swiatek explained.

“I always want to win; every athlete has it in their blood, or should.” “We want to show what we can do, and that feeling is stronger than any other,” she continued.

The four-time Grand Slam champion also wrote a message to her supporters, promising to give her all in every tournament she joins. She did, however, stress that it is not a ‘promise’ because tennis is a highly unpredictable sport.

“Now that I am more effective and frequently reach the later rounds of tournaments, the fans can trust and appreciate me.” Of course, I can’t promise that it will always be like this because professions may change, and tennis is a sport where you can’t always win. “It’s said that it’s a sport of mistakes and defeats, so the important thing is to stay focused and keep working,” Iga Swiatek remarked.
