Gautam Gambhir is highly disappointed with India’s approach
Former Indian batsman Gautam Gambhir is not happy with India’s performance in the ongoing T20 World Cup 2021. He believes that India’s approach to the game was not good enough. After 2 consecutive losses against Pakistan and New Zealand team India is finally out of the competition.
Several cricketers have pointed out over the team’s management and approach towards the game but no big changes were made and that has led team India to this point. Gambhir made his point by saying that India would have figured out things after losing to Pakistan or might have looked upon the pitch when fighting against NZ. Former Indian opener wrote in the column for Times Of India:
“There is no place for ifs and buts in sport, but things could have been different if India had planned better for Shaheen Shah Afridi, or assessed the pitch better when they took on New Zealand in the second game”
Furthermore, he even slammed the Indian squad by saying that Champions don’t wait for the result of NZ vs. Afghanistan to come in the favor rather play well after getting well-trained for the big game. Gambhir exclaimed:
“As a sportsperson, you’d want to be master of your destiny rather than wait for a few permutations to go right to know how far you are progressing in a competition. The Indian team would tell you what I mean. Champions train to win, they work hard to score that one run more than the opposition and not wait for the result of New Zealand vs Afghanistan match to know their fate”
After all the mismanagements and hustle and bustles, New Zealand has comfortably set its foot in the semi and disqualified Afghanistan from the ICC T20 league.
India will bounce back even stronger in the next T20 2022 League till then enjoy India vs. Namibia today at 7:30 pm(IST).
