FIU Gets Recognition From Sports Illustrated For Best College Football Uniform

The prominent swimsuit magazine, Sports Illustrated listed FIU as the no. 1 Best College Football Uniform.

This week SI Swimsuit released its top ten best college Football alternate uniforms list. Surprisingly Sports Illustrated’s Mike McDaniel, believes the best new look belongs to a Conference USA program.

According to Mike McDaniel, the No. 1 spot belongs to Florida International’s “Miami Vice” jerseys in the College Football top-10 new uniforms this year.

McDaniel wrote, “Sure, Florida International may be rebuilding and looking to build momentum after posting a 4-8 record last season. But that doesn’t mean the Panthers can’t sport some slick alternate uniforms to lean into the Miami Vice old-school look.”

On Wednesday night, Florida International University revealed its special uniforms modeled by Wide receiver Dean Patterson in the sleek black and pink jerseys. The Panthers will wear them when facing UTEP on Saturday, Oct. 11 in a showdown airing on ESPN2.

FIU also retweeted the SI top ten best uniform post with the caption,

“Anyone surprised who’s #1?”

McDaniel placed Michigan State’s throwback “Shadow” look second, followed by Florida’s all-black uniforms. After the top three Notre Dame’s green alternates and Maryland’s scripted helmets made it through the top five pick.

This season FIU changed the whole look with its Miami Vice uniforms.
