During Wednesday night’s football showdown between UTEP and Sam Houston State, the action on and off the field was hard to miss.

On the field, Sam Houston State lost a 21-10 lead, bringing their season record to 0-8. Bearkats quarterback Keegan Shoemaker did his best, completing 22-of-39 passes for 202 yards, scoring two touchdowns, but also facing an interception.

Off the field, a Sam Houston State fan wearing an unusual inflatable costume was asked to leave Bowers Stadium due to the costume’s inappropriate nature. You can watch the fan being escorted out in this video.

People had a lot to say about this incident.

One person remarked, “That guy had a lot of guts wearing that costume.”

Another added, “The team leads 21-10 once, and the fans get overconfident.”

A third fan joked, “Clearly, a big Michael Penix fan.”

Sam Houston State will be back in action on November 4, going up against Kennesaw State.

This unexpected fan ejection added an element of surprise to the game, making it a night to remember for fans, with both football thrills and a bit of amusement.
