Does Rory McIlroy own a private jet?

Rory McIlroy is currently one of the finest players on the tour. He is one of the most accomplished players in history, with 37 professional wins, including four Major titles.

Aside from that, McIlroy has amassed a sizable fortune, with a net worth of more than $170 million. With total earnings of $80,095,557, he is second only to Tiger Woods on the PGA Tour lifetime money leaders list.

McIlroy has just become the face of golf, and his stakes have risen as a result of Woods’ absence from the PGA Tour. Similarly, McIlroy, like the 15-time Major winner, possesses a multimillion-dollar private plane.

The Bombardier Challenger 605, which costs more than $30 million, is owned by the Northern Irishman. The Challenger 605, which was purchased in 2018, has a top speed of Mach 0.885 and a maximum range of 3,910 miles.

Three years after purchasing the private plane, McIlroy spoke about the ‘guilt’ he felt as his carbon footprint increased. Golf Digest cited him as saying:

“I flew back home on my own.” It was only me on the aircraft, and I had this overwhelming sense of shame because this can’t be nice and all that sort of thing.”

Rory McIlroy agreed to pay roughly $150,000 per year to compensate for his carbon footprint after learning about it from the GEO Foundation. For those who are unfamiliar, the GEO Foundation is dedicated to golf sustainability.

“I take it seriously, especially when you see some of these weather events that are happening, And I live in a part of the world where hurricanes are very prevalent,” he stated in an interview with Sports Rush.

Rory McIlroy earned $41.5 million in total earnings last year, including $34 million in sponsorships. He has partnerships with Nike, Omega, NBC Sports, data analytics business Optum, and TaylorMade Golf. He’s also invested in companies including Whoop, Future, and Let’s Get Checked.

Tiger and the four-time Major winner also co-own TMRW Sports. TMRW Sports had planned to start the tech-infused TGL in 2024, but that date was pushed back by a year owing to damage to its site in Florida.
