Colorado Football and Deion Sanders Sees Linebacker Eoghan Kerry Enter Transfer Portal Amidst Changes in Program

Colorado football player, Eoghan Kerry, has made the decision to enter the transfer portal. Kerry, who has been a key linebacker for the Buffaloes in his second season, announced this move on social media, expressing gratitude towards his coaches, teammates, and fans.

During his time at CU, Kerry enjoyed memorable moments, from wearing the team colors to participating in the pre-game Ralphie run and the post-game “Rocky Mountain High” tradition on Pearl Street.

Kerry, who originally hails from Santa Ana, California, joined Colorado as a promising three-star recruit. He played 11 games and recorded four tackles, but he has not seen action under Deion Sanders this season.

Kerry’s journey had a rocky start as the head coach, Karl Dorrell, was fired just five games into his collegiate career. He then played under the guidance of Mike Sanford for the rest of the 2022 season. 

Kerry mentioned the frequent coaching changes during his time, stating, “I’ve had five different positioning coaches and three head coaches within only a year of being here. Regardless, I’m grateful to all of you for teaching me and to those of you who believed in me, thank you.”

This transfer news is part of the ongoing changes in the Colorado football program under Deion Sanders, who has encouraged current players to explore transfer options to make way for his recruits. This has resulted in a significant overhaul of the Buffaloes’ roster. Notably, the team has started the current season with a 4-2 record, a substantial improvement over last year’s single-win finish.
