Babar Azam boosts the squad’s morale after a big loss in the Semis
After the great loss against Australia on 11th November in Dubai, Pakistan’s hard-earned place in the finals got reserved by Aron Finch and company.
Every other Pakistan fan is disappointed with their team while knowing Skipper’s responsibility Babar Azam came to support their team in the middle of the crisis in the dressing room once the match was concluded.
Owing and fulfilling his responsibility Azam raised the team’s morale by asking them to come back stronger and stick by one another. The skipper consoled :
“We did lose, but we will learn from this and bounce back. We have to ensure we don’t repeat these mistakes moving forward and let’s maintain this bond amongst ourselves because this is a result of our hard work.”
Pakistan had the clutch of the game right from the beginning, but just because of an important wicket that was dropped out by Hasan Ali the game took a U-turn and Pakistan lost their only chance of winning the match against Australia.
Babar Azam’s squad felt short in the most important match when Hasan Ali drooped the most crucial catch of Matthew Wade which in turn led to the unbroken partnership with Marcus Stoinis of 81*runs.
In the video uploaded by the official account of PCB’s Twitter handle Babar Azam was found talking to his boys and empathizing with them by understanding their pain and asking them not to break their unity. Babar Azam consoled the team by saying:
“We are all in pain and grieved by where we went wrong and where we could’ve done better. No one will tell us as we already know it. But we have to learn from it and we can’t let this loss break us as a unit. I’m requesting not to blame individuals and we as a team didn’t perform well.”
The captain even showed his belief in the team and appreciated it for playing extremely well throughout every match against every big team. Azam added:
“It is difficult to create such a connection; hence, let’s get through this defeat together. As captain, I back every player and I’m thankful to all of you for responding well to me and fostering a good dressing room atmosphere. Everyone has given their everything and taken responsibility and it’s what is required from a team. Efforts are within our control and we will put it; however, results are not in our hands. Results will follow if a side gives its maximum effort.”
