Angel Reese Talks About Caitlin Clark: A Friendly Rivalry

In last season’s national championship game, LSU’s Angel Reese made a playful “You can’t see me” gesture in front of Iowa guard Caitlin Clark. This got people thinking that there might be a rivalry brewing.

During LSU’s media day on Thursday, Angel Reese was asked about her interaction with Caitlin Clark. She made it clear that she respects Caitlin Clark, who is the Naismith Player of the Year.

“I love Caitlin; we’ve been competing since we were in AAU,” Reese said. “It was always fun, always competitive. One day, hopefully, we could even be teammates. She is a great player, shooter, person and teammate.”

Reese acknowledged that people took sides when they had their late-game showdown, but there’s no bad blood between them.

Reese continued, “Me and Caitlin are cool; we’ve never had any issues. Just knowing I’ve helped grow women’s basketball, and she has, too, that’s all that matters.”

LSU is looking strong this season, with Angel Reese back for another year. The team has also gained two key players, Hailey Van Lith and Aneesah Morrow, thanks to Kim Mulkey.

On the other hand, Iowa will rely on Caitlin Clark once again for the upcoming season.
