“Wisconsin, this one’s for you. The goal was never just competing at Miss USA, but representing my home state. At the age of 21, I am blessed to say I have the opportunity to do so. Congratulations to all the young women that vied for the title last weekend. Doing that alone is an accomplishment itself. Thank you to everyone that has helped me get to this point. If it wasn’t for my support system this wouldn’t have been possible. The plans are already in the works and I promise to make this great state proud!”
Both Alexis Loomans and Graham Mertz were students at the University of Wisconsin, but it was only this year that Mertz made the move to Florida. This shift has generated a lot of interest in college football circles.
On the football field, Mertz has recorded 692 passing yards, thrown three touchdowns, and had one interception this season while playing for the Gators.
