Top 5 Players with the Most Sixes for CSK IN IPL

Those who are fond of watching Cricket, are the most familiar with the name Chennai Super Kings. It is the team that has given the memorable performance to the crickets fans. They love to watch CSK playing especially when CSK is under immense pressure, yet they manage to perform the best. 

So far, CSK has managed to clinch the title thrice in 2010,2011,2018. It is the only team with the most appearances in the play off (10) and in the final (8). It shows the dedication and fighting spirit , CSK exhibits when it is out there on the field. 

It is the combined efforts of Ms dhoni, Suresh raina, Ravindra jadeja, Dwayne bravo so on and so forth that have taken the team to the height where it is today at present. 

1. Mahendra singh dhoni (186)

Ms Dhoni has been dear to everyone who loves cricket. He has given some of the memorable gigs in cricket.  Jharkhand-born batsman and wicket keeper, India won the world cup with Dhoni at the helm.

Dhoni was acquired by the Chennai super king in 2008 IPL season. In that season he scored 414 runs in total in 16 matches at the strike rate of 133.54. With his amazing contribution, Chennai super kings reached the final only to be defeated by the Rajasthan royals by 1 run.

Barring 2016 and 2017, when Dhoni was with the Pune supergiants. He has been a loyal player of Chennai super kings.

Ms dhoni has hit a total of 186 sixes in 174 matches which makes rank no 1 player with the most sixes. 

2. Suresh raina (171)

Suresh Raina is counted among the one of the best players in the IPL. He has numerous records to his name. His contribution to the CSK has played a huge role in helping the CSK to win the title thrice. 

Suresh Raina provides great stability to the team when he comes at no.3. He is someone on whom his team can rely for some quick run additions. 

He is good at both batting and bowling. But CSK already has a lot of bowlers. Raina does not get much of the opportunity to show his skills on that front. But he has been exceptional in batting.

He has amassed a total of 4527 runs at the strike rate of 137.34 in 164 matches. His highest is in the IPL is 100 runs and his total runs of 4527 are highest in CSK as well as among all teams in the IPL history. 

Suresh Raina has hit a total of 171 sixes in the 164 matches. He is ranked 2 after Dhoni to be the player with the most sixes.

3. Shane watson (68) 

Shane Watson is the most destructive player in the both Australian teams,and IPL. Shane Watson is the player who has always stood up to his critics whenever he was criticized. He became a  part of IPL in 2008 for Rajasthan royals. He was the player who had a lot of experience in cricket both in bowling and batting.he made sure he justifies his experience. 

In the inaugural season, he was declared  the player of the season as he scored 476 runs at  the strike rate of 151.76.

He stayed with the Rajasthan Royals till 2016. He was traded to Bangalore in 2016. He stayed there for two years. But he could not perform well due to recurring injuries. When he was released by Bangalore in 2018. CSK didn’t leave this opportunity and took him in. 

He justified his inclusion as he gave outstanding performances in the final which helped CSK clinch the title. 

He is the player who has the highest runs in CSK as he hit 117 runs in 57 balls at the strike rate of 205.26 against the Sun risers Hyderabad. 

He has garnered 68 sixes in the 43 matches so far.

4. Murali vijay (68)

Murli Vijay joined Chennai super kings in 2009 which was his debut. He got to play only 4 matches. 2010 was the year when he came to limelight where he collected a total of 458 runs. 

When CSK won the IPL trophy in 2011, Murli Vijay played a significant role where he hit 95 runs off the 52 balls against Royal challengers Bangalore. 

He is the fifth player in CSK to have scored 1708 runs in 70 matches at the strike rate of 125.12. 

Murali Vijay garnered 68 sixes in 70 matches.

5. Faf du plesis (64)

Faf du plessis comes third in scoring the most runs after Raina and Dhoni. Plesis is a player a team can turn to for the turnaround. He made his debut in the CSK four years after IPL was started. He was not that known figure as he was not even selected in the south african team. 

But the CSK franchise saw a great potential in him. They roped him in. He proved that he was worth every penny as he scored 398 runs in his debut season. 

CSK already had many players who had proven credentials. He did not get many chances to play. Yet, Plessis made sure that whenever he got chances, he capitalised them in the best possible ways.

Plesis has chipped in 2088 runs at the strike rate of 129.52 which is in record in itself.

Faf du Plesis smashed 64 sixes in 76 matches which makes him the fifth highest player with the most sixes.
