Top 5 players with the Most fifties for CSk in the IPL

Chennai Super Kings is the team par excellence. Since its inception, CSK has won the title thrice in 2010, 2011, 2018. It has the highest winning percentage (61.28) among all teams. 

Ms Dhoni’s experience as captain has provided many insights to the team which has helped them turn around the games to their favour.

1. Suresh raina (33)

Suresh Raina is the player who has a lot of determination, courage. His record is the testimony to all his virtues.  He is counted among the one of the best players in the IPL. He is good at both batting and bowling. But CSK already has a lot of bowlers. Raina does not get much of the opportunity to show his skills on that front. But he has been exceptional in batting.

Suresh Raina has collected a total of 4527 runs at the strike rate of 137.34 in 164 matches. His highest is in the IPL is 100 runs and his total runs of 4527 are highest in csk as well as among all teams in the IPL history. 

Suresh Raina is the player who has garnered maximum fifties of 33 in the IPL for CSK.

2. Mahendra singh Dhoni (21)

MS Dhoni was acquired by the CSK franchise in the first season. Since then, he has been an inseparable part of CSK except for two years when he was acquired by the Rising Pune Supergiant due to a ban from CSK for two years. He was again acquired by CSK in 2018.

MS Dhoni has the ability to hit any shot of any bowler. Apart from batting, He has been a good strategist throughout the seasons as his teammates look up to him. Ms Dhoni was made captain of CSK the instant he was roped in.

He has taken CSK to clinch IPL trophy thrice in 2010, 2011, 2018. MS Dhoni has the ability to take the team out of the most pressure situations to victory.   

Ms dhoni has also samshed 21 fifties. 

3. Michael hussey (14)

At times, Michael Hussey was the most popular opening batsmen in the CSK. Aggression on the field was synonymous with his personality. In spite of playing a few seasons, he made a mark for himself in CSK. 

He was one of the most valuable assets of CSK when he was part of it. In a few seasons, he has managed to amass 1768 runs in 50 matches. He is ranked fourth in the CSK to be the player with the most runs. 

Michael Hussey is ranked 3 in smashing the most fifties in the CSK with 14 fifties. 

4. Faf du plessis (14)

Plesis is a player a team can turn to for the turnaround. He made his debut in the CSK four years after the IPL was started. He was not that known figure as he was not even selected in the South african team. 

But the CSK franchise saw a great potential in him. They roped him in. He proved that he was worth every penny as he scored 398 runs in his debut season. 

CSK already had many players who had proven credentials. He did not get many chances to play. Yet, Plessis made sure that whenever he got chances, he capitalised them in the best possible ways.

He has smashed 14 fifties in 76 matches.

5. S badrinath (11)

We can probably call him the unluckiest player. Badrinath gave his best when he was given chances in international cricket. All the time he was not included in the playing 11 for some unspecified reason. But he did not budge by exclusion. On the other side, Badrinath has made a name for himself in domestic cricket. He would play for Chennai.

Badrinath made his IPL debut in 2008 in CSK. He was the player who rescued the CSK from the well of defeat a number of times. He was a power hitter. CSK relied upon him for the quick run scoring. 

Badrinath has scored a total of 1441 runs in the 95 matches from 2008 till 2013. He was again dropped from IPL for unspecified reasons.  

He has smashed 11 fifties which makes him the fifth highest player with most fifties.
