1. David warner (52)
David Warner is the all-format opener in the world. He has the best batting skills in the world. When it comes to the IPL career of David warner. It is not surprising that he is the most successful overseas player in the IPL.
He became the part of IPL when he was roped in by the Delhi daredevils. He did not have much to show during the time he stayed with Delhi Daredevils.
His fortune took a positive turn when he joined SunRisers Hyderabad. In 2015, he was appointed the captain of Hyderabad. Under his leadership, Sunrisers reached new heights. He won the maiden IPL trophy in 2016.
When it comes to runs, he has scored 5254 runs at the strike rate of 141.54. He holds the record of having the most fifties in the IPL.
2. Virat kohli (44)
Virat kohli is famously known as the run machine. This Delhi-born batsman is ranked no.1 in the ODI, no.2 in the test, no.3 in the T20. He has the ability and hunger to prove himself on the field. Virat kohli was the captain of the team when India won the under-19 world cup.
He was bought by the RCB in 2008 and he became the captain of the team in the 2013. In 2016, he had the highest runs in IPL and he was in the possession of the orange cup.
Virat kohli has scored 5878 runs at the strike rate of 130.73. He has hit a whooping 44 fifties only behind the david warner. He may have been the run scoring machine but sadly Bangalore has not won the IPL trophy despite reaching the final many times.
3. Shikhar dhawan (43)
Shikhar Dhawan got the fame when he surprised everyone with his fastest century by a debutant in the test in 2013. Today, he has become the inevitable part of India’s top order.
Shikhar dhawan has had a stint with many franchises over the period of time. He joined the Indian premier league in 2008 as part of the Delhi franchise. He did not have much credentials at the time. He got to play alongside the big stalwarts like Sehwag, Gambhir, de Villiers, Dilshan, and Collingwood , yet he amassed 340 runs in 14 matches. He was the third highest run scorer.
He was still traded by Delhi to the Mumbai Indians. He stayed there for two seasons and he was roped in by the deccan charges from where he got his breakthrough by scoring the runs and being the consistent performer. He later came to the Sun Risers Hyderabad. From Hyderabad, he moved back to the Delhi capitals.
Whichever team he was the part of, he made sure that he never stops performing better, never stops scoring runs. He was the hard player to be ignored.
He has scored a total of 5197 runs so far at the strike rate of 126.87 and he is counted among the top batsmen with the most centuries. He has hit 43 fifties so far.
4. Ab de villiers (41)
Ab de villiers is famously known as the 360 degree batsman. So far, no fielding position has been created where Villiers can not hit. Villiers has the ability to dominate the best bowlers in the world. He can fail the tactics of any bowlers.
He is one of the players who has been destructive right from the inception in 2008. He first joined the Delhi franchise and remained a part of it till 2010. He was the highest run scorer in the 2010 IPL. When he was released by Delhi, RCB took advantage of the opportunity and took him in for the 1.1 million dollars and since then he has been a part of RCB. he made sure that he justifies his inclusion.
He is the crowd favorite. He has been faring extremely well in all seasons. But woefully, RCB has not picked up an IPL trophy for once despite ab de villiers hard hitting.
Ab de villiers has scored 4849 runs at the strike rate of 151.91. He is ranked no.4 in the IPL history in scoring the most fifties. He has hit a total of 41 fifties. We will yet to see if he will be able to turn the fortune of RCB in the IPL 2021.
5. Rohit sharma (40)
Rohit sharma is undoubtedly the most successful batsman and captain in the Indian premier league. Mumbai Indians have clinched the IPL trophy four times out of which three under the captaincy of Rohit sharma.
Initially Rohit sharma struggled for consistency but IPL helped him to stay relevant.
He was initially part of Deccan charges from 2008 to 2010 amassing over 350 runs, later he was roped in by the Mumbai Indians. He was more than happy to be part of his home team.
He was impressive with batting in the next season but his most impressive and noticeable breakthrough came in 2013 when he scored 538 runs playing a significant role in Mumbai Indians’s maiden IPL title. Eventually, he was handed over the leadership of Mumbai Indians.
He made sure that he stood up his role as a leader and rest is history.
He has notched up a total of 5230 runs at the strike rate of 130.61.
Rohit sharma is counted among the top five batsmen with the most fifties.
