MS Dhoni led Chennai Super Kings is the franchise which has managed to catch the sight of maximum number of people. This franchise is worth the attention. As it is the second team which has won the maximum titles (2010, 2011, 2018) after Mumbai Indians.
At every opportunity, CSK has proved that it is the team which can not be missed. It has a fighting spirit. It fights till the last ball. 1. Murali vijay (127)
Murali Vijay has been the power hitter since the time he made debut. In the later years of IPL, he was not able to perform well due to recurring injuries. Murli Vijay made his debut in IPL in 2009 for Chennai Super Kings. He got to play only 4 matches. 2010 was the year when he came to limelight where he collected a total of 458 runs.
When CSK won the IPL trophy in 2011, Murali Vijay played a significant role where he hit 95 runs off the 52 balls against Royal challengers Bangalore.
Murali Vijay is ranked no.1 in the highest run scorer. He scored 127 runs in 56 balls at the strike rate of 226.78 against the Rajasthan royals.
2. Shane watson (117)
Shane Watson is the player who has always silenced his critics whenever he was criticized. He became a part of IPL in 2008 for Rajasthan royals. He was the player who had a lot of experience in cricket both in bowling and batting.he made sure he justifies his experience.
In the inaugural season, he was declared the player of the season as he scored 476 runs at the strike rate of 151.76.
He stayed with the Rajasthan Royals till 2016. He was traded to Bangalore in 2016. He stayed there for two years. But he could not perform well due to recurring injuries. When he was released by Bangalore in 2018. CSK didn’t leave this opportunity and took him in.
He justified his inclusion as he gave outstanding performances in the final which helped CSK clinch the title.
He is the player who has the highest runs in CSK as he hit 117 runs in 57 balls at the strike rate of 205.26 against the Sun risers Hyderabad.
3. Michael hussey (116)
Michael Hussey is the most aggressive player on the field. He is famously known as the accumulator. He made debut in the IPL in 2008 for the Chennai super kings. He too did not get many matches to play but he made sure that whenever he is trusted with the bat, he gives his best. His best seasons were 2011 and 2013 where he scored 492 and 733 respectively.
He parted with IPL in 2015. We can estimate his potential where in a few seasons he managed to make a huge impact.
He is ranked no. 3 when it comes to highest runs for CSK of 116 runs.
4. Murali Vijay (113)
In the beginning, Murli Vijay had a great start with the team till 2013. He was a power hitter. He was known to play destructive in partnership with Michael hussey. He was very instrumental in CSK’s IPL win against RCB as he scored 94 runs off 52 balls.
But his performance was slowing down due to injuries, he was released by the CSK only to be retained by the RCB. he could not add much value to the team and finally ended up being released by RCB again to be retained by the KXIP.
Murli Vijay even got the opportunity to lead the team. This was the time, he could not perform well due to injuries and missed a couple matches.
He was later traded back to the CSK team. Here too, he did get much of an opportunity to play.
Murli Vijay has two records in the list of highest runs for CSK. He has hit 113 runs in 58 balls against Delhi Daredevils.
5. Shane watson (106)
Shane Watson has been such a player that whenever he was asked to take the team to the victory. Watson made sure that he met the expectation. Now and then, his performance faltered and there were questions raised against his performance. Shane Watson shunned them with his performance both at the batting and bowling front.
He has three centuries so far in the history of IPL. Many times, he just got out a few runs short of a century. He has been a significant part of CSK.
Shane Watson has scored 106 runs which is the fifth highest in CSK.
