Top 5 Batsmen with Most Runs for CSK in the IPL

Chennai super kings have been the favorite team of fans since its inception. As Chennai has given many memorable performances to the cricket fraternity.  As far as consistency is concerned, CSK is the most consistent team in the IPL. It has performed consistently across all the seasons. 

Ms Dhoni, captain of CSK has ensured that his team always strives for winning the IPL title. As a result, CSK has won the IPL trophy three times in 2010, 2011, 2018. Chennai has many top batsmen who have performed at their best and made the highest records possible.

1. Suresh raina (4527)

Suresh Raina is the player who has a lot of determination, courage. His record is the testimony to all his virtues.  He is counted among the one of the best players in the IPL. He has numerous records to his name. His contribution to the CSK has played a huge role in helping the CSK to win the title thrice. 

He is good at both batting and bowling. But CSK already has a lot of bowlers. Raina does not get much of the opportunity to show his skills on that front. But he has been exceptional in batting.

Suresh Raina provides great stability to the team when he comes at no.3. He is someone on whom his team can rely for some quick run additions. 

He has amassed a total of 4527 runs at the strike rate of 137.34 in 164 matches. His highest is in the IPL is 100 runs and his total runs of 4527 are highest in csk as well as among all teams in the IPL history. 

2. Ms Dhoni (4058)

Ms Dhoni is the probably one of its kind who is the most calm under the most pressure situations. Given his patience and calmness, he can turn around any game to his team favour. 

When the other batsmen look bleak against the run chase of the staggering total of the opposite team. Ms dhoni is the player who can play those big shots with utter perfection and ease. That’s what differentiates him from other players. 

Owing to his leadership skills, CSK has won IPL trophy thrice in  2010,2011,2018 and has reached the playoffs and final multiple times.

He is the second player with the most runs in the IPL. he has scored a total of 4058 runs in 174 matches at the strike rate of 138.64.

3. Faf du Plessis (2088)

Faf du plessis comes third in scoring the most runs after Raina and Dhoni. Plesis is a player a team can turn to for the turnaround. He made his debut in the CSK four years after IPL was started. He was not that known figure as he was not even selected in the south african team. 

But the CSK franchise saw a great potential in him. They roped him in. He proved that he was worth every penny as he scored 398 runs in his debut season. 

CSK already had many players who had proven credentials. He did not get many chances to play. Yet, Plessis made sure that whenever he got chances, he capitalised them in the best possible ways.

Plesis has chipped in 2088 runs at the strike rate of 129.52 which is in record in itself.

4. Michael Hussey (1768) 

Michael Hussey is the most aggressive player on the field. He is famously known as the accumulator. He made debut in the IPL in 2008 for the Chennai super kings. He too did not get many matches to play but he made sure that whenever he is trusted with the bat, he gives his best. His best seasons were 2011 and 2013 where he scored 492 and 733 respectively. 

He parted with IPL in 2015. We can estimate his potential where in a few seasons he managed to put a huge impact.

He is ranked no.4 where he has scored 1768 runs in 50 matches in only 50 matches. 

5. Murli vijay (1708)

Murli Vijay made his debut in IPL in 2009 for chennai super kings. He got to play only 4 matches. 2010 was the year when he came to limelight where he collected a total of 458 runs. 

When CSK won the IPL trophy in 2011, Murli Vijay played a significant role where he hit 95 runs off the 52 balls against Royal challengers Bangalore. 

He is the fifth player in CSK to have scored 1708 runs in 70 matches at the strike rate of 125.12.
