The Daughter of a Cricket Star: Bollywood Debut in a Multi-Million Rupee Film

As the ICC World Cup 2023 is getting closer, all Indian fans remember the great player Kapil Dev and how he led Team India to win in 1983. Kapil Dev is one of the most famous cricketers ever. But his daughter, Amiya Dev, didn’t choose a sports career.

While Kapil Dev was a successful cricketer, Amiya decided to do something different. She chose a career in movies. Actually, she has been a part of several Bollywood films, including one with Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone.

Amiya, who is just 27 years old, is trying to become a movie director in the film industry. She worked on some big Bollywood movies, like her dad’s biopic called ’83’.

In the movie ’83,’ which was about Kapil Dev leading Team India to victory in the 1983 World Cup, Amiya was the assistant director. She was able to provide special insights because she knows a lot about her dad’s life and his journey.

While making ’83,’ the director Kabir Khan was impressed with Amiya and the other assistant directors. He even gave her a shout-out on Instagram, mentioning her private Instagram account.

Amiya’s first Bollywood movie was ’83,’ and it featured famous Bollywood actors like Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone playing the roles of Kapil Dev and Romi Dev. Other actors in the film included Harrdy Sandhu, Pankaj Tripathi, Ammy Virk, Tahir Raj Bhasin, and Boman Irani.
