Sri Lanka releases the names 24-man squad for ODIs and T20Is against England

Sri Lanka has recently announced a 24-man squad for the ODIs and T20s. Sri Lanka will travel to England to play the three T20s as well as three three ODIs later this month.

This newly announced squad has experienced players such as Avishka Fernando, Nuwan Pradeep, Oshada Fernando and Kasun Rajitha.

This 24-man squad will be led by Kusal Perera. The squad that has been recently announced is subject to the approval of the sports minister of Sri lanka.

The presence of the experienced players will ensure that Sri lanka wins the first series in the ICC cricket world cup super league. This was the reason why experienced players were included in the squad.

Sri Lanka’s squad for ODIs and T20Is vs England: Kusal Perera (c), Kusal Mendis, Danushka Gunathilaka, Pathum Nissanka, Avishka Fernando, Oshada Fernando, Akila Dananjaya, Dushmantha Chameera, Isuru Udana, Binura Fernando, Nuwan Pradeep, Shiran Fernando, Kasun Rajitha, Dhananjaya de Silva, Charith Asalanka, Niroshan Dickwella, Dasun Shanaka, Chamika Karunaratne, Dhananjaya Lakshan, Wanindu Hasaranga, Ramesh Mendis, Lakshan Sandakan, Asitha Fernando and Ishan Jayaratne.

In this squad, Sri lankan selectors are looking to finalize a few names for the upcoming ICC T20 world cup 2021. Keeping that thing in mind, they have selected four uncapped players to be included in the upcoming world cup. They are: Dhananjaya Lakshan, Ishan Jayaratne, Charith Asalanka and Shiran Fernando.

After landing in England, Sri Lanka will play the practice match against the kent. Later, they will go for another practice match before finally locking horns with England.

The subsequent three-match ODI series between England and Sri Lanka will be part of the ICC Cricket World Cup Super League. It will be interesting to see if Sri Lanka can manage to trounce England on their home soil.
