Ravidra jadeja joins CSK camp after recovery, uncertainty over Dhoni’s deputy

Ravindra Jadeja, who injured his left thumb during the test series against Australia, has recovered from his injury earlier than anticipated. He has come back to hit the practice camp of Chennai super kings.

This is cheerful news for the fans of Ravindra jadeja who will now be able to expect some action from him. As it has been long since they have not seen the likes of Jadeja on the field.

When Jadeja wounded his left thumb, he was instantly ruled out of the fourth and final test match against Australia. There were reports that he would take longer to recover from his injury.  Therefore, he was not picked up when England arrived to play the four test series.

There was uncertainty looming over his presence in CSK for the IPL. It seemed that he will not make his presence felt in the IPL. But he defied all the expectations and returned stronger early.

Currently he is undergoing a mandatory 7-day quarantine at south Mumbai hotel. Once he completes his quarantine period, he will be in full action.

Kasi Viswanathan, the CEO of the CSK made it clear that jadeja is in good shape and he will be able to join from the first game itself.

Jadeja recently resumed practice at the National Cricket Academy in Bangalore from where he travelled to Mumbai. “He looks in good shape and we are hopeful he will be available from the first game,” said Kasi Viswanathan, the CEO of the franchise

Ravindra Jadeja who is an integral part of CSK, has done phenomenal work both at batting and bowling. That is the reason he enjoys the undying support of CSK captain MS Dhoni. CSK roped him in 2012 for a whopping 9.8 crore making him the most expensive player of the year’s action. 2014 was the foremost year for Ravindra Jadeja when he scalped a total of 19 wickets to become second highest wicket taker for the side.

CSK is still unclear on Dhoni’s deputy

There is uncertainty over the position of Dhoni’s deputy. As Suresh Raina has not been restored to his earlier position. Suresh Raina was the deputy to MS dhoni since the inception of IPL in 2008. There are speculations brewing that Ravindra jadeja might be named as the deputy of MS dhoni. Suresh Raina might not get his previous position. The CSK franchise has not made any official announcement regarding it. “We’ll name the vice-captain closer to the tournament,” Viswanathan said and conceded that Raina has not yet been restored to his old position.

Suresh Raina backed off just a couple of days before IPL was to begin due to some personal reasons. And CSK missed his presence in the last season as he was the highest run scorer in the CSK. He joined the CSK camp this season on 24 march.

All the CSK players who are undergoing mandatory quarantine have been allotted the Brabourne Stadium for practice. Suresh Raina is also in the quarantine. By far, overseas players have not joined the camp but soon they will start arriving in camp and all of them will have to undergo the fixed quarantine period before they can begin their training session.

Chennai super kings will begin its first campaign against Delhi capitals on 10 April at the Wankhede Stadium.
