Rajasthan Royals has finally got a player in New Zealand keeper-batsman Glen Phillips for the second leg of the IPL 2021. Rajasthan Royals will miss out on two of their important players England Jofra archer and Jos Buttler. Rajasthan royal’s new signing up for Glenn Philips was to fill the void created by the two England players. Glenn Philips is the first replacement for the Jofra archer and Jos butter.

Jofra Archer was ruled out of the IPL due to a recurring fracture in the right elbow. Whereas, Jos Butler is out because he is expecting his second child.  Butler made a name for himself in the first phase of the IPL when he scored his first century against Sunrisers Hyderabad. Had he stayed there in the second phase, he might have proven to be an important asset for the Rajasthan Royals.

On the other hand, Ben stokes has taken an indefinite break from cricket as he was grappling with mental stress and he wanted to take care of his mental well-being. He played only one game in the first phase of IPL earlier where he injured his finger. Then he backed off from the rest of the IPL.

The entry of Glenn Phillips will provide much-needed relief to the Rajasthan royals line-up with the three best performing players being ruled out. New Zealand keeper-batsman Glenn Phillips has the form on his side. He is expected to continue his form in the second phase of the IPL. he is one of only five players to aggregate over 200 runs in the inaugural season of The Hundred. Phillips, who’ll also play for Barbados Tridents at this year’s Caribbean Premier League, has four T20 hundreds and a strike rate of 143.28 from 134 games.

The Royals, who are placed fifth in the standings, begin their UAE leg of IPL 2021 with a clash against Punjab Kings on September 21 in Dubai.
