Michael Smith Declares End Of His Recruitment

Michael Smith has decided to commit his future with South Carolina Gamecocks. The tight end announced his decision on Tuesday.

Smith signed a new deal that will run until 2024. According to 247 Sports, he is the 4th tight end in the class.

The class of 2024 commits includes quarterback Dante Reno and Dowell Loggains who is a first-year offensive coordinator. South Carolina was the first to give the promising talent an offer. Coming from Savannah, GA, the 6-4 talent was showered with offers from various offers from finest programs in college football.  The ones after his signature were Alabama, Ohio State, Tennessee, Texas, Michigan, and others.

Just How Good Is Michael Smith?

Smith is an incredible signing that bolsters the offense. His versatility is his greatest weapon as he can be deployed as both a traditional tight end and as a big receiver. Smith is rapid when it comes to making runs and separating the linebackers and defensive backs. He is great in the air and is well aware of his positioning. Apart from that, he can put in a tackle as and when needed.

Coming off of the Junior Day weekend, Carolina has secured the signing of Kam Pringle. He comes in as the no.1 offensive tackle in the class and the third commitment in the class for Carolina.

On the 27th, South Carolina is expected to bring in linebacker Wendell Gregory from Marietta Georgia.
