IPL Auction 2022: David Warner wants to “Start it fresh”!

In an ongoing press conference, Australian opener David Warner confirms putting himself again in the auction (2022) as he knows his franchise Sunrisers Hyderabad is not going to retain him for further Indian Premier League like the recent one(2021).

Captaincy for the franchise was taken away from him (2016) and was not included in the team for the last six final games of the 2021 IPL. The opener is going through an off-game phase also Franchise sidelining Warner was a “tough pill to swallow”. Warner ahead in the conference confirmed by saying:

“I will put my name in the auction. By the signs of the recent IPL, I won’t be retained by the SunRisers, so I’m looking forward to a fresh start. I kind of laughed at the reasoning, that two guys were hitting the ball out of the middle a little bit better than I was. Given that when you’re playing the game you’re playing the scenario,”

Warner also added that he still couldn’t get some answers related to his sidelining in the team and also from the captaincy. Sunrisers Hyderabad removed Warner from the team without any explanation due to his poor form of batting. He missed playing and running for drinks. The opener added:

“There are a lot of moving parts around there. What you have to do as a professional athlete is take it on the chin and do everything you can for the team. Not being able to go there, run drinks, and be around was when it sort of hit home that it could be personal, and I’m still yet to get those answers,”

David Warner is going through an off-game phase but in his recent match with Sri Lanka, the 35- year old player has scored his half-century out of 10 overs and his Team won the match by 7 wickets.

The mega auction is expected to be held in January or February.
