Varun Chakravarthy failed the qualification for the fitness test that is mandatorily organized for a player to pass before appearing for any international match. This is the second time, he has failed to pass the Yo Yo test. 

Varun Chakravarthy had the shoulder injury which ruled him out of the India tour of Australian. 

Since he has been recovering from it. Now he started practising actively to come back to his normal form. He was selected owing to his normalcy at throwing the ball.

Despite his selection, he was not able to clear the fitness test stipulating a run of 2 km twice. His chances to make a comeback in the India’s five match T20 against Australia appeared to be grim.  

When Mustaq Ali was happening, Varun was recovering from rehab, He was recovering in rehab but when there was Vijay hazare trophy, he still did not play. And you have selected him on the basis of matches he played five months ago. 

“The case of Varun Chakravarthy will act as an example for selectors to set proper criteria to make selection of cricketers,”  said source. 

Rahul Chahar is expected to return to the team in the place of Varun Chakravarthy. For Varun Chakravarthy, he is working on his fitness and he is expected to make a comeback in  the latter part of the series.
