Bangladesh will host New Zealand for a five-match T20 series slated to be held in September. All the matches are expected to be held in the Sher-e-bangla stadium in Dhaka. The window of the matches is between september 1 to 10.

Currently Bangladesh is engaged with Australia in the series where Bangladesh has managed to secure 1-0 against the mighty australians. When they host New Zealand, they will probably be high on the moral grounds when it comes to competing against New Zealand.

New Zealand is yet to play any international game since the world test championship against India in England. They are likely to start preparation for the T20 world cup. This limited over series in Bangladesh will provide them a great platform to hone their skills and to prepare well for the T20 world cup.

Earlier Bangladesh was expected to host England for the limited overs. However, this plan was postponed after the cricket boards of the both countries decided to advance the dates to 2023. This was done due to lack of dates and other engagements of the respective countries.

Bangladeshi players Mushfiqur rahim and Tamim Iqbal who did not partake in the team for a while now due to injuries and quarantine rules, are expected to be the part of the series against the new Zealand.

New Zealand players will travel to the UAE to play the remainder of the IPL after they finish the series in Bangladesh. The New Zealand cricket board has itself confirmed that players will be available for IPL.

“New Zealand skipper Kane Williamson, Trent Boult, James Neesham, and Lockie Ferguson will feature in the second phase of the IPL 2021 in the UAE,” White had stated as quoted by the GEO Tv.

New Zealand is also likely to play a limited-overs series in Pakistan away from home in the september-october window. However this will only be possible when New Zealand is satisfied with all the security measures made by Pakistan for the safety of the players.

Though Pakistan board has requested New zealand to include two more T20 in lieu of T20 world cup since dates are set to clash with IPL, they are likely to go with the already decided 3 T20s and 3 ODIs.

Bangladesh toured New Zealand for a limited overs series earlier this year in march 2021 where it failed to win any matches. In fact, Bangladesh has not yet won a single T20 series against New Zealand. New Zealand has emerged victorious in all the 10 series that took place between New Zealand and Bangladesh.
